The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) this week released a proposed list of products that could be subject to additional tariffs of 25%, pursuant to the Section 301 action with respect to China’s practices related to technology transfer, intellectual property, and innovation.
The due date for submission of written comments regarding this proposed action is May 11, 2018. The USTR has requested comments with respect to any aspect of the proposed action, including: the specific products to be subject to increased duties, including whether products should be retained or removed, or whether products not currently on the list should be added; the level of the increase, if any, in the rate of duty; and the appropriate aggregate level of trade to be covered by additional duties.
